Le Roy boards agree to seek up to $10,000 state grant to study consolidation with town

The Village Board voted Jan. 15 to serve as the lead applicant on a New York State Citizens Reorganization Empowerment Grant (CREG) to fund a study of potential consolidation between the Village and Town of Le Roy. The application requests up to $10,000 and requires a 50% local cash match to be split equally between village and town.
Trustee Raymond Yacuzzo moved the joint resolution authorizing submission of the CREG application; Trustee James Bonacquisti seconded and the motion passed with all recorded Aye votes. The resolution states the grant would support costs associated with developing and disseminating information regarding consolidation prior to any further action such as a voter referendum. The Board authorized Mayor Rogers, with support of his agents, to submit the application.
