Community Development Director Gavin Henderson told the planning commission that the county and Central Lyon Fire Protection District approved an MOU at the July 16 Board of County Commissioners meeting to enable concurrent fire and county plan review.
Henderson said Central Lyon can now access the county’s permitting software to add fire approvals directly, removing a prior two-step sequence that could delay building permits. “We pulled Central Line into our software permitting system…they do now have the ability to go into our system, review the plans there, put the approval on there, and it's done concurrently while our staff is also looking at the building permit side of things,” Henderson said. He called the change a time-saver for applicants.
