Lansingburgh board accepts resignations and approves wide-ranging instructional hires

The Lansingburgh Central School District Board of Education accepted three resignations and approved a broad set of instructional appointments on Aug. 26, 2024.

Jillian Manupella, Board of Education member, moved to accept resignations recommended by the Superintendent: Justina Harris, ELA teacher at KMS, effective Aug. 20, 2024; Meghan Murray, teaching assistant at TES, effective Aug. 31, 2024; and Bianca DeFlumer, teaching assistant at KMS, effective Aug. 31, 2024. The motion was seconded by Daniella Richards and passed unanimously (Ayes 7, Nays 0). RESO #3-08/26/2024 records the action.

The Board then approved a set of instructional appointments. Key hires included program residents Aiden Jones (TES) and Alyson Murphy (RPES) with temporary terms beginning Sept. 1, 2024 and running through Sept. 1, 2026; a long-term substitute appointment for Mary Danahy at TES; and probationary teaching assistant appointments such as Kiran Chaudry. The Board also ratified summer school leadership roles: Tiffany Wysocki and Andrew Sheehan were approved as secondary summer school principals with prorated stipend allocations covering July 15–Aug. 20, 2024. The Board approved RPES extracurricular staff for 2024–25, including Delmarie Moore for Odyssey of the Mind and Rob White as Detention Supervisor, and multiple coach and advisor appointments across K–12 schools (examples: Caitlyn Class, Varsity Girls Volleyball Head Coach at LHS). The approvals include specific term dates, contractual stipend references, and step/salary notations as recorded in the Board minutes; where a specific dollar amount or step is listed in the minutes it is reported here (for example, summer-principal stipends referenced as percentages of an $8,568 stipend).
