Planning director: Anderson Towne Crossing phase and a Home2 Suites hotel are moving forward

At the meeting the Planning Director said the Anderson Towne Crossing development will return with a revised preliminary plat as the developer incorporates additional property into a multi‑family phase. "We did a final plat... They now have their plans that they're bringing forward toward a hotel, that home 2 suites on that property," the Planning Director said regarding Lot 4.
Staff explained that the planned development (PD) zoning for the Towne Crossing requires site plans to come back to the commission for each new building. The Director said those site plans and a related additional multi‑family building will appear on the commission agenda in September. Separately, the Director noted that PD rules mean the city will review each new building's site plan even within a larger plan of development.
