Planner: 'Micro-business' license lets small cannabis operators compete
Summary
At the Paulsboro Land Use Board meeting, planner Chris Dochney explained that a 'micro-business' cannabis license is a state category intended to allow small operators to compete with larger companies; the designation was one of the changes folded into the updated Master Plan.

During the Master Plan reexamination discussion, board member James Salvatore asked for clarity on what a "micro-business" means under cannabis law. Borough Planner Chris Dochney responded that state law provides licenses for small operators designed to enable them to compete with larger companies.
Dochney framed the micro-business category as part of wider changes the Master Plan now incorporates for local cannabis regulation. The board did not request further amendments on the cannabis text during the meeting; the planner said the entire document will be revisited next year to add or clarify outstanding items.
