City Attorney Simonson presented a confirmatory ordinance to reauthorize the transfer of Green Bag Road property to the Department of Highways (DOH), noting the council had previously authorized the transfer and DOH subsequently asked to increase the purchase price in the deed for project parcels 6-2 through 6-7 by $15,000 to account for payment to the city for a stockpile of millings and to grant a right of entry pending execution of the deeds. "DUH subsequently asked to increase the purchase price listed in the deed for, project parcels 6 dash 2 through 6 Dash 7 by $15,000 to account for payment to the city for a stockpile of millions to be left on the property and to grant a right of entry pending execution of the deeds," the attorney said.
Staff advised the transfer with the increased payment appears to fall within authority previously granted by council but presented this confirmatory ordinance "in the interest of being safe." After a short discussion, council moved and seconded the ordinance and approved it 6-0 on the vote recorded in the meeting.
