Peekskill city clerk reports increased demand for records, proposes permit calendar changes

For the full year ending Dec. 31, 2024 the clerk’s office issued 404 marriage and birth certificates and collected $4,040; through Sept. 30, 2025 the office had issued 505 certificates and collected $5,095, with projected revenue for 2025 set at $5,945 (a projected 47% increase over last year).
Sandra also described operational changes: consolidating roughly 225 parking permits that had staggered renewal dates onto a calendar-year cycle to simplify renewals, plans to complete a backlog of 13 meeting minutes by December 2025, and coordination with the Westchester Board of Elections on early voting logistics. Council members praised the clerk’s staff and asked for clarification on a small stipend line item and budget-year comparisons; the clerk said she had met with the city manager and finance staff to reconcile questions.
