Le Roy board reinstates kindergarten section, approves multiple hires and coaching appointments

The Le Roy Central School District Board of Education on Aug. 12 approved reinstating a section of kindergarten and creating a 1.0 FTE probationary elementary teaching position effective for the 2025-26 school year. The personnel actions were approved on motions made by board members and carried by unanimous votes.
The board also created a 1.0 FTE probationary teaching assistant position and confirmed multiple probationary and extracurricular appointments. The board approved probationary teaching appointments including Michelle Miller (ELA teacher, effective Sept. 1, 2025; tenure date Sept. 1, 2029; salary Step 2 of the LTA contract) and Victoria Sabel (elementary teacher, effective Sept. 1, 2025, pending NYS initial certification; tenure date Sept. 1, 2029; salary Step 1). Four-year probationary teaching assistant appointments (effective Sept. 1, 2025) were approved for Michelle Jones, Christine Zajonczkoski, Kristin Rozewski and others, contingent on NYS fingerprinting and district training. Extracurricular appointments approved included Michelle Sherman as Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach and Helene Beswick as mentor teacher. Votes on these items were recorded as 7 Yes, 0 No unless otherwise noted.
