The Huron Town Board adopted a benefits package for 2025 that sets medical insurance offerings, Flexible Spending Account integration and buy-out terms for employees who waive coverage. The health insurance plan the minutes cite is the Wayne County Health Plan and is described as Affordable Care Act compliant.
The minutes include specific contribution rules: "If you were employed or appointed year by year on or after January 1, 2010, the Town will pay 100% of the monthly premium for your single coverage and you will pay 10% of the monthly premium for dependent coverage." The board also recorded a buy-out payment structure for employees who waived coverage: those who waived coverage on or after Jan. 1, 2012 receive a medical insurance buy-out payment of $1,000 per year, paid across 24 pay periods and prorated for partial years.
The resolution also notes an FSA will be funded by the town for eligible regular full-time and part-time employees who participate in the health insurance plan; participants should refer to the Summary Plan Description and the plan document for details.
