Huron board sets mileage, compensation schedule and payroll cadence for 2025

At its Jan. 2 organizational meeting the Huron Town Board set the official mileage reimbursement for town business at $0.70 per mile and accepted the 2025 Compensation Schedule for elected officials and highway personnel.
Councilmember Bob Cahoon moved to approve the mileage rate, seconded by Councilmember Tom Wetherby; the resolution passed with a recorded vote of AYES 3, NAYS 0. The board also adopted payroll scheduling that lists bi-weekly pay for highway staff and many clerical roles, with quarterly payments for councilpersons, zoning and planning board members and the historian.
The minutes note the compensation schedule and payroll cadence were published and attached to the minutes. The board adopted salaries for appointed positions consistent with the published schedule.
