The Columbia Heights Planning Commission on July 7 unanimously elected Clara Christopherson as chair, John Gianoulis as vice chair and Paul Moses as secretary/treasurer.
City Clerk Sara Ion opened orientation material and told commissioners that the Boards and Commissions overview is included in the agenda packet and to direct questions to her. Commissioners then nominated and voted on officer positions by motion: “Motion by Gianoulis, seconded by Johnson, to elect Christopherson as Chair of the Planning Commission,” and subsequent motions to elect Gianoulis as vice chair and Moses as secretary/treasurer were recorded as passing “All ayes.”
The new slate of officers takes over routine leadership of the Planning Commission for meetings and hearings; the commission also approved the minutes from its April 7, 2026 meeting by unanimous vote.
