Staff tells board FEMA reimbursement expected to appear in budget for lake and culvert work

It was a FEMA grant... to get reimbursed for the work that we did," the staff member said, explaining that prior work had been completed but reimbursement processes were unfinished.
The staff member said the amount tied to lake work is about $150,000 in total and that roughly $115,000 will appear in the budget as incoming funds once final paperwork is complete. Board members asked how that money is classified in the books and whether it can be applied to closed fiscal years; staff said it cannot be retroactively applied to closed years and must be treated as current‑period income.
Directors asked staff to show line‑by‑line accounting for the FEMA money and the related capital items so the board can see how reimbursements and local matches interact with reserves and operating balances.
