District issues new pickup guidance after dismissal drill; board president to receive GVSBA award

The district’s Safety committee reported completion of an early dismissal drill at the Jr./Sr. High School on Nov. 10 and said a ParentSquare notification will be sent with revised afternoon pick-up directions. The Le Roy Police Department reported complaints about vehicles parked on South Street Road during dismissal; the district requested that parents who arrive early wait in Hartwood Park until dismissal or, if possible, arrive at 2:25 p.m. or later. The minutes state that starting Wednesday, Nov. 12 vehicles will no longer be permitted to wait or park on South Street Road or at the Jr./Sr. High School main entrance for student pick-up.
Separately, Superintendent Merritt Holly congratulated Board President Jacalyn Whiting on being selected for the 2025 Albert W. Hawk Award for Distinguished School Board Service; the minutes note Mrs. Whiting will be honored at a dinner on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Le Roy Country Club.
