Facilities update: turf field work begins, bathroom renovation delayed and band room reopens

Superintendent Merritt Holly said fencing has been installed around the Hartwood Park soccer/future multipurpose turf field site and contractors are mobilizing now that the home soccer season has concluded. Mr. Peter Loftus reported that a wall needs to be redone in the science‑wing bathroom renovation, which has delayed the opening; the Jr. High bathroom might open by the end of the week but both bathrooms are past deadline.
Holly also reported that the Wolcott Street band room has reopened to students and that contractors are awaiting window delivery before beginning the Lapp wing window replacement schedule. The facilities committee will meet Oct. 29 to review contingency funding and cost breakdowns for a possible public address system replacement at the high school, bleacher expansion at the multipurpose field and a senior high bathroom remodel.
