Trustees were informed that bids for sludge transportation were opened but only one bid was received and related paperwork would be forthcoming. The board recorded a $64,000 quote for replacement bulbs used in the UV disinfection process. Mayor Rogers and WWTF staff noted these items as priorities for follow-up; no formal motion on the UV quote was recorded in the minutes.
The department also reported routine operational work: leaf pickup, filling holes where trees had died on Main Street, and investigation into a nonfunctional village‑owned street light in front of the post office. Resident Earl Funderburk raised a separate safety issue about an old sycamore tree leaning into power lines on his property and said National Grid responded it was “beyond their capacity” to remove the tree; DPW will consult on next steps.
