The Laurens Central School Board approved several personnel actions for the 2024–25 school year. The board appointed non-certified substitute teachers Dina Bray and Tyler LaDue at a daily rate of $101.00 and added substitute aides and custodial coverage (salaries for aides and custodians at $15.50 per hour).
The board appointed Marjorie Ostroff as a CROP Peer Tutor at $15.50 per hour (paid from the CROP grant). It also approved spring sports coaching assignments: Michelle Kane (Girls Modified Softball Coach), Patricia Dunham (unpaid volunteer for Girls Modified Softball), Maralena Furlan (Girls JV Softball Coach) and Chuck Mann (unpaid volunteer for Girls Varsity Softball). The minutes record that the board rescinded a prior JV Softball appointment for Michelle Kane and then approved the updated assignments; all motions carried 5-0-0.
Separately, the board accepted the resignation of Maintenance Worker Patrick Dugan, effective April 4, 2025; approved an unpaid leave for Ashley Furner from April 4 through June 30, 2025; and recorded a leave of absence for Yvonne Angell to serve as a long-term substitute for 2nd grade starting March 3, 2025. The minutes include retroactive effective dates for some substitute appointments.
