The Hudson Falls Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved an area variance Oct. 20 allowing applicants Isabella Nassivera and Todd Eddy to build a 16x30 garage at 23 William Street.
Todd Eddy told the board the plan is to align the garage with the driveway and "keep some space for a yard for his children to play in." Code Officer William Celeste told the board the application seeks a 5-foot relief in an 8-foot setback. Village Attorney William Nikas reviewed the board's area-variance findings and the Short Environmental Assessment Form; the board determined the five variance factors were met and issued a negative declaration.
Board Member Michael Willig moved to approve the variance; Chairperson Edward Mahan seconded and the motion carried with ayes from Mahan, Willig, Cantiello and Ward. The board recorded no votes in opposition and listed Board Member Chris Connelly as absent.
