James Linney, an advisory board member, moved to "close front 9 for 8 week duration"; Terrill Trask seconded and "all voted in favor," the minutes state. The board plans to reopen both front and back around the Fourth of July and later apply similar work to the back nine when scheduling permits.
Cole Burdick, who presented the maintenance report, said all organic material (Dakota Pete mulch) has arrived and that 100 pounds of seed have been ordered. The maintenance plan requires greens to remain untouched and be heavily watered for eight weeks after application, a condition the board said makes temporary closure necessary.
Board members discussed ways to restrict access to the greens during the treatment period and agreed the front-nine closure would best protect the new material and seed. The motion to close the front nine was recorded at the meeting and passed unanimously.
