The Town Board on Feb. 11 approved a motion by Councilman Raymond Legg to move Travis Rinaldi’s start date to March 1, 2025, as a full-time police officer. The motion was seconded by Supervisor Sean Mahoney and carried Ayes–4, Noes–0, Absent–1 (Reale).
Sgt. Robert Haines, representing the Hunter Police Department, was also given permission by the board to recruit one to two additional part-time officers to build the roster; the minutes do not record candidate names, recruitment timeline or budgetary impact.
