Le Roy board proposes using remaining FARPA COVID funds to cover recent equipment purchases

Mayor Gregory Rogers told the Board the Village has $266,681.15 remaining from the original $436,921.76 FARPA COVID relief award and reviewed several prior purchases he recommends assigning to that funding source. He listed a 2024 International HV507 SFA plow truck, a 2024 T64 T4 Bobcat Compact Track Loader, a 2024 John Deere Gator HPX615E and a 2024 Giant G2700 HD Plus Tele as proposed designations for FARPA funds because other proposed uses either missed the Dec. 31 deadline or were not a good fit.
No Board members or attendees raised concerns during the meeting about the proposed designation. Mayor Rogers also said the Village had explored options such as automating garbage collection, pool conversion to salt water and computer upgrades but some uses proved infeasible before the deadline.
