Yarmouth accepts 0% Clean Water Trust interim loan for PFAS work on wells 10 and 11

The Select Board approved an interim loan note on Aug. 11 to borrow from the Massachusetts Clean Water Trust at 0% to fund PFAS work associated with wells 10 and 11.
Finance Director Jennifer Mullen told the board the work ties to Article 14 (authorizing $5,050,000 for PFAS treatment included in the IUP). "We're borrowing the money from the Clean Water Trust at 0%," Mullen said, and recommended acceptance of the interim loan note so work can proceed without delay while other funding and IUP steps continue. The board moved, seconded and approved the motion; board members praised staff for securing the favorable rate.
Town staff said execution of the loan documents will allow contractors to proceed and protect the town's schedule for mitigation and construction activities related to PFAS remediation.
