Board approves multiple policy updates including wellness, safety and graduation requirements

The first-reading approvals included Policy 5661 (Wellness), Policy 5681 (School Safety Plans), Policy 5683 (Evacuation, Lockdown, and Emergency Dismissal Drills), Policy 7220 (Graduation Requirements) and others; the second-reading approvals included policies on employee assistance (6530), indemnification (6540), leaves (6550/6551/6552), remote working (6570) and student medication (7513/7521). Motions were made and seconded on the record and each item was recorded as carried 7-0.
Board President Danielle M. Mullen made the motions for these items, with various board members recorded as seconders depending on the motion. The minutes list the policy numbers and formal motion records (NA-1, NA-2), but do not include extended debate in the public minutes. These actions update the district’s policy manual and affect staff procedures and student-related emergency and health protocols for 2024–25.
