Mayor John Barton reminded attendees that a community party will be held Aug. 23 at Moran‑Derby Park with live music from 5:00 to 10:00. He said he had coordinated with the school, the Strand Theatre and the Chronicle to share the event, and he thanked the Fire Department and Katie Bover for organizing vendors and a 5k run to support Fort Edward Rescue.
Barton also recognized Adirondack Pools and the Public Works Department for repairing the fountain. A representative identified as Shane told the mayor about the extensive work performed, including welding and epoxy placement to seal and repair the fountain base.
