Highway superintendent to put old pickups out to bid; FEMA may fund Jay Road repairs

Highway Superintendent Kevin Denton reported at the May 13 meeting that the town—s new pickup trucks have arrived and asked whether to place the old trucks for auction or send them to a salvage yard. The board directed Denton to advertise the old pickups for bid for a couple of weeks and accepted the DPW/Water report by motion.
Denton also told the board that Jay Road "needs a lot of work to be fixed properly" and that FEMA indicated it may cover the repair costs if the town prepares a project scope and cost estimates. FEMA could review the town's submission and potentially release funds before work is completed, the transcript states. The board accepted the DPW/Water report.
Separately, Denton reported the Hale Hill project is progressing and that the Lewis quarry provided favorable gravel pricing for the work.
