Finance and Public Works staff updated the board on capital-improvement projects. Staff said many capital projects are multiyear and carry forward encumbrances; the detention medical expansion was shown as "just over $3,000,000" (excluding a $250,000 supplemental the board was asked to consider). Staff also highlighted an $11.2 million Highline Canal Trail Underpass project with multiple partners (Aurora, Adams County and federal partners) and noted Arapahoe County's share at approximately $800,000.
Staff asked commissioners whether they had follow-up questions and noted several projects are near closeout and will have reappropriations into next year. Commissioners complimented the new color-coded presentation slides as helpful to visualize encumbrances, actuals and available funds.
