Council adopted a resolution on Dec. 15 that sets compensation and appointment terms for management personnel for a four‑year term running from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2029. Staff recommended a 3.25% cost‑of‑living increase effective July 1, 2025, followed by 3% COLAs in 2026–2028, plus equity adjustments resulting from a wage and compensation study.
The staff report cited the following proposed equity adjustments: fire chief +13.80%, finance director +4.341%, planning and building director +5.77%, and public works and recreation directors +6.99%. Management personnel will also receive increases to healthcare benefits and the addition of Juneteenth as a citywide paid holiday. The council unanimously approved the resolution after staff read the statutorily required summary under California Government Code section 54953(c)(3).
