Residents raise Wheelabrator odor/noise and pothole concerns; village to use cold patch

Ron Atkinson of Breath Free Hudson Falls told trustees about a prolonged noise incident on Aug. 19 and a separate smell/smoke observation on Sept. 3 at Wheelabrator; neighbors have reported rodent issues and Atkinson asked who the village contracts for pest control. Atkinson said neighbors must take precautions outdoors because of the rodents.
Atkinson also asked whether Ferry Street repaving would occur this year, noting large potholes. Mayor John Barton replied the village usually uses cold patch for potholes and implied immediate deep repaving was not scheduled; he said staff would address the problem using the typical cold‑patch method.
