Dr. Cynthia Reasoner, Buckingham County Schools superintendent, and J.B. Heslip, Director of Facilities & Food Services, presented a summary of year‑end maintenance across the division and requested a budget transfer to reflect completed work.
Reasoner read the transfer request and asked the Board to move $202,825.13 from the FY25‑26 instructional budget to the maintenance budget to cover projects completed by June 30. Heslip described projects at multiple schools — Honeywell server upgrades for the building automation system, gymnasium and cafeteria floor refinishing, slate roof repairs, chiller repairs, sprinkler and life‑safety inspections, water‑heater replacements and classroom renovations at the CTE center. Supervisor Dennis H. Davis moved the transfer; the motion passed unanimously.
County Administrator Karl R. Carter clarified the transfer moves existing funds between budget lines and does not create new appropriations.
