CATS emphasized the project's community benefits — accessible outdoor recreation, potential meeting/field-trip space and increased visitor sales and bed tax revenue for nearby businesses — but the board made no commitment at the meeting and set no funding vote. The board will follow up after fiscal review and the suggested site visit.
