Town of Lewis adopts 2025 budget; board to revisit additional funding in April

The Town of Lewis Board voted unanimously on Nov. 12 to adopt the 2025 town budget (Resolution 24-11-1), with all five members recorded as voting "Yes." The roll call recorded John Blades, Lanita Canavan, Stephen Denton, Terry Pulsifer Jr. and Supervisor James Monty as voting in favor.
Supervisor James Monty invited board members to propose additions or deletions before the vote. Counselor Lanita Canavan clarified that the $80,000 figure in the approved budget "is what they will receive," and Supervisor Monty said the board will revisit an extra $20,000 in April. The budget adoption was moved, seconded and carried with 0 opposed.
The adoption was recorded formally as Resolution 24-11-1. The board noted fire-district 2025 budgets and other packet materials were provided for information but took no separate action on those items at the meeting. The board adjourned at 7:28 PM after approving the night's business.
