During the public-comment portion of the meeting, Donna and John Brower urged the board to address conditions at 5550 Rte. 23A, a parcel owned by Syzmanski Construction. The Browers said the property has increased piles of firewood and commercial materials, multiple commercial vehicles and roll-off containers, and they raised concerns about wetland encroachment and expanded operational footprint that they say are outside prior approvals.
The Browers described the site as a safety and quality-of-life problem: "They state the parcel is a fire hazard as the firewood piles have tripled since he took ownership." Supervisor Sean Mahoney said the town previously issued a Stop Work Order and informed the owner he must come before the Planning Board for site-plan review; Mahoney said the board is prepared to enforce town laws and is discussing potential fines.
