Town board approves $8,000 heat-pump purchase for ambulance building

At its Feb. 25 meeting, the Town of Hunter Board approved the purchase of an 18,000 BTU Mitsubishi hyper heat pump for the ambulance facility at an estimated cost of $8,000.
Councilman Raymond Legg made the motion to choose the 18,000 BTU unit; the motion was seconded by Deputy Town Supervisor Dolph Semenza and passed with four ayes, no nays and one absence (Supervisor Sean Mahoney). The minutes record an accompanying operational request: Ariel asked to borrow a highway department bucket truck for an antenna installation scheduled for Monday.
The board did not place a competing vendor on the record; the motion authorized procurement at the estimated amount and set no additional contingency in the minutes.
