Lower and Martin Road culvert projects still awaiting geotechnical reports for FEMA submissions
Summary
Engineer reports and borings are pending for Lower Road culvert work (FEMA DR-4625 and DR-4825). Ryan Frykholm warned that planned private construction on Lower Road could undermine the project if heavy vehicles access the road before repairs; work on Martin Road remains under FEMA coordination.

The board received an engineering update on June 10 regarding two culvert projects. Ryan Frykholm said that borings performed by Foundation Design have not yet produced results; without those geotechnical findings a design cannot be completed nor submitted to FEMA for the Lower Road culvert (upper pipe: DR-4625; lower pipe: DR-4825).
Frykholm said he has discussed the situation with project engineer Bill Grove and expressed concern that a private construction project by a Mr. LaBarca on Lower Road could affect the road's stability if heavy construction vehicles access the route before repairs are complete. Work on the Martin Road culvert is ongoing in coordination with FEMA, and the board held an extended discussion about sequencing and dependencies between both projects.
No design submittal or construction timetable was finalized at the meeting; Frykholm and the engineer will report back once Foundation Design provides the boring results.
