Italy board approves $46,570 highway equipment transfer, OKs monthly vouchers

The Italy Town Board on June 10 approved a highway budget amendment moving $46,570 from DA2665 (sale of equipment) into DA.5130.2 for machinery and equipment, a measure the board adopted unanimously. The motion to accept the amendment was made by Councilor Dave Ferry and seconded by Malcolm Mac Kenzie.
The board also approved General Abstract #6 for $33,504.82, Highway Abstract #6 for $22,701.30 and FEMA Abstract #6 for $5,471.62 in a separate unanimous vote. Mac Kenzie noted that the town's bank accounts show a "large amount of money" and asked whether the balances have insurance coverage; Supervisor Richard Craig said he will contact Lyons National Bank to confirm.
The motions were recorded as passed 5-0. These approvals maintain the town's regular cash-flow and allow the highway fund to acquire equipment identified by Superintendent Andy Best. The board approved the May 2025 Supervisor/Executive Summary report during the same session.
