"They did recommend to approve that," Reed said, and he added that the commission held considerable discussion about using an existing subdivision road and concerns about maintenance arrangements (for example, whether homeowners associations or others would be responsible for upkeep). Reed said the commission chose not to include any condition related to Cairo Drive but expects to send a letter outlining their concerns when the matter proceeds to the board.
Reed also noted a separate variance application on Woodland Park Road that the commission considered and that the matter will come before the board at a future meeting. Commissioners did not debate or vote on the subdivision at this staff meeting; Reed's report was informational and flagged items for follow‑up.
