Borough staff told councilors Oct. 7 that discussions continue with community members about purchasing the American Legion ball fields and adding them to the borough parks system. Solicitor Wachter is preparing an agreement; Manager Wells said the borough would cover closing costs if required and that funding would come from outside sources and a private donor.
Council approved a motion to present the proposed agreement to the American Legion for their review (motion by Councilor Steadman; seconded by Councilor Osborn). The minutes record unanimous approval. The solicitor will complete the agreement and the borough will pursue any necessary funding and donor arrangements prior to a final transfer.
