Union City Borough Council updates schedule, approves series of municipal actions

The Union City Borough Council convened Aug. 13, 2024, at First Global Methodist Church and adopted a corrected agenda that moved an item from Municipal Lot #3 to Municipal Lot #1 and added a discussion of meeting dates. Councilor Cross presided; Councilors Cross, Joyce, Osborn, Steadman, Uber and Kerns attended and the meeting opened with the borough’s vision statement: “The Union City area is a thriving rural community of families, businesses and organizations dedicated to encouraging growth while maintaining small town values.”
Council agreed to change its regular meeting schedule to the first and third Monday of each month at 6:30 PM for the period from September 2024 through April 2025. The next meeting was set for Aug. 27, 2024, and, because of Labor Day, the following meeting will be Sept. 16, 2024. Multiple routine agenda items were handled by unanimous votes, including personnel hires, infrastructure repairs, easements, a subdivision, and pension obligations.
