Maintenance supervisor Keith Leitzinger reported crews had cut and trimmed trees causing visibility blockages for drivers and said the lightning-struck tree in the square park is being monitored and appears likely to recover. He noted one village-owned tree on Third Street at 730 3rd Street has branches overhanging a resident's house and needs trimming. The homeowner offered to pay full cost or split the cost with the village.
The board voted (motion by President McLimans, seconded by Chasity Allen) to remove the tree and share the cost with the homeowner; the motion carried. Leitzinger characterized the tree as healthy but in need of trimming to prevent wind-related damage to the house.
