The Select Board unanimously approved a request to close the upper portion of Jericho Center Circle for a pet parade scheduled for Aug. 8 at 10 a.m. The request was made by Catherine Bass from the Jericho Town Library after a June date was postponed due to weather.
Bass described the plan in brief: the route is the upper circle, pets are welcome, and organizers will coordinate timing and public-safety considerations with town staff. A board member made the motion to approve, another seconded, and the board voted "aye" by voice to grant the temporary closure.
The board asked organizers to coordinate logistics with town highway staff and to follow standard permitting and safety guidance for events using public rights-of-way.
