The Litchfield Public School District board voted July 20 to call the general election for three school board seats to be held in conjunction with the statewide election on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, with voting hours set for 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Member Stephanie Danielson introduced the resolution, which directs the clerk to notify county auditors, publish legal notice, post sample ballots and cooperative election materials, and coordinate with election officials. The resolution text states, "It is necessary for the School District to hold its general election for the purpose of electing three (3) school board members for terms of four (4) years." The motion was seconded and adopted on a roll-call vote: Mathews, Anderson, Provencher, Danielson and Oster voted Aye; Chair Alex Carlson was absent.
The board authorized the clerk to post sample ballots at the district administrative offices and in polling places and to provide rules and instructions for the optical-scan voting system as required by law. No contested schedule or polling-place changes were recorded at the meeting.
The adoption formalizes administrative steps the district must take ahead of the filing and ballot-preparation deadlines and places responsibility with the clerk to coordinate with county election officials.
