The board entered closed session under Statute 19.85(1)(c) to consider employment matters and later reconvened in open session. After the closed session, President McLimans made a motion, seconded by Scott Daentl, to accept an Engagement of Services document from Johnson Block Accounting to provide temporary assistance with clerk duties during the Clerk/Treasurer’s F.M.L.A.; the motion carried.
The board also approved a motion, seconded by Alan Mergen, to maintain all health insurance premiums for the Clerk/Treasurer while she is on F.M.L.A. Both actions were taken as formal board decisions after the closed personnel discussion.
The closed-session citation in the minutes references Statute 19.85(1)(c) as the legal basis for the personnel discussion; the employment-related actions were recorded in open session and will be implemented by the village's administrative offices.
