At the Aug. 3 meeting the board reviewed and confirmed committee assignments for finance, audit, facilities, policy and ad hoc liaisons, with chairs identified for several committees. The chair said the board favored two retreats and two forums per year and proposed potential dates (fall retreat Oct. 1 or Nov. 5; winter retreat Jan. 7 or Jan. 21; forum dates including Nov. 5 or Nov. 12 and Jan. 21 or Feb. 4), noting some members would be absent on some dates.
The board discussed results from a recent self-evaluation and identified updating the board handbook, mission and vision as priorities. Members agreed to an ad hoc committee to convert an editable handbook version, schedule quarterly check-ins on handbook revisions, and distribute building presentation dates once retreat/forum dates are finalized.
Chair also reminded members that NISPA conference registration opens Aug. 11 and encouraged attendance; staff said registration details would be confirmed by email.
