The Jericho Bicycle-Pedestrian Connectivity Committee met Aug. 10 at Town Hall and voted to approve Tony Likhite as a new committee member. The group also confirmed an Aug. 16 date for traffic-calming work on Ross Lane and reported that new trail signs and bike racks are arriving and will be installed in coming days.
Committee members recorded several maintenance priorities tied to the town's dam-removal work, including questions about contractor restoration of trails damaged by heavy vehicles. Public attendee Sabina Ernst noted "there is no grant money budgeted to work on that section of the trail," and said the dam-removal work should be complete by the end of August. Committee members assigned follow-up tasks: Cody will contact the Town to confirm contract obligations and to place Tony's application on the Selectboard agenda; Jess and Kevin will coordinate trail-sign installation; Kevin and Brad will install traffic-calming measures on Ross Lane on Aug. 16.
