Ben Burkey, vice president of the Placentia Community Chorus, described the group as “40 voices strong” and said the chorus rehearses at the BACS Building and performs free community concerts, including performances for assisted‑living residents. He asked the council to waive the rehearsal reservation fee for the coming season and said the chorus will pay staffing costs and file for nonprofit status.
Council members moved and seconded the request and called the question; the council voted 5‑0 to approve the fee waiver. Supporters told the council the chorus brings significant community benefit and that staff time and facilities costs would continue to be covered where appropriate.
