Katie Delone, human resources manager, reported that the district onboarded an operations technician/electrician, Morgan Matson, and a utilities operations specialist, Malik Foster, in April. She said those positions should appear before the sewer and water committees in coming months as staff schedules allow.
Delone highlighted a year-long project to digitize onboarding: staff implemented an electronic onboarding and offboarding workflow in Laserfiche after feedback from seasonal employees. “She worked so hard diligently over the last year to test this pretty much by herself,” Delone said of the staff member who led the effort. Delone said the change reduced manual steps for seasonal hires and will remove the onboarding item from future HR reports.
Why it matters: filling operations vacancies and reducing manual onboarding processes can improve service continuity and reduce staff time; the committee recorded the personnel updates as part of regular department reporting.
