Village submits FEMA preliminary damage assessment after Aug. storm; estimated damage about $6,000

Village President Robert McLimans told trustees the village submitted a FEMA Preliminary Damage Assessment package detailing damage from the Aug. 8–9 storm, when the village lost power and the wastewater treatment plant received about 7 inches of rain. Emergency Management representatives Jason Wagner and Steve Braun reviewed the submission and confirmed it was satisfactory to the county.
McLimans reported the village’s estimated damage at approximately $6,000, including generator problems, a damaged drainage tile on Fourth Street, and ditch bank erosion at the village park. He said FEMA will next compare before-and-after pictures to finalize assessment and potential aid. Trustees were informed of the administrative status and next review steps.
