Union City Borough Council voted unanimously Sept. 16 to approve a resolution supporting Erie County's effort to develop a new countywide comprehensive housing plan. Councilor Osborn made the motion, seconded by Councilor Steadman; councilors recorded that the county will use a MAP grant and Act 137 Affordable Housing funds derived from housing deed transfers to support the work.
Council also noted that several borough residents have submitted applications for Act 137 funds, which the minutes state are allocated based on income. The resolution directs the borough's formal support for the county plan; specifics of the county study will be determined by Erie County and the county's consultant team.
