Vendor presents options to replace Village's aging water meter reader

Jim Pierce of TI Sales attended the Feb. 10 meeting to inform the board about options for replacing the village's handheld water meter reader. Pierce told trustees the current handheld was discontinued about 1.5 years ago and that "the handheld itself is from 2006." He presented two replacement readers—a lower-cost model and a higher-end model with more features—and explained both new systems use cloud-based software that simplifies updates and stores more meter data.
Pierce said the board can expect materials and feature comparisons for future review. The trustees did not take an immediate procurement vote; the presentation was informational and the board will discuss the options at a later date.
