Community Director Chris Bessner told council Ordinance 2,842 would make permanent the co‑living housing allowances previously adopted under an interim ordinance and reaffirmed in February. "This ordinance this evening would adopt the regulations permanently," Bessner said, and staff noted the only substantive changes are added definitions for "kitchen" and "kitchenette" and a Planning Commission recommendation that each co‑living unit include a kitchenette and a bathroom.
After brief committee comments, a motion to approve the ordinance was made and seconded and the council approved Ordinance 2,842 by voice vote. No amendments were proposed during tonight's action; staff recommended adoption and the ordinance will take effect per its provisions.
