Guide Dogs for the Blind group in Enumclaw marks 40 years, invites community

A local chapter of Guide Dogs for the Blind said Enumclaw has raised about 308 dogs (131 became guide dogs) and invited the public to a celebration Aug. 22 at Trinity Lutheran.
Jenna Decker, speaking for the local guide dog group, said the organization has been active in Enumclaw for roughly 40 years and has raised about 308 dogs, of which about 131 became guide dogs.
"We have our celebration of 40 years, August or August 22, 1 to 4PM at Trinity Lutheran," Decker said, inviting residents and noting the group will have a puppy truck and family activities. She thanked the community, schools and businesses for support over four decades and encouraged attendance.
The announcement came during the public‑comment portion of the council meeting and was informational; no council action was required.
